Easter festivites

My visiting teacher gave us some free tickets to go down to Thanksgiving Point (in Lehi, about 45 minutes away) to this big Easter egg hunt. It was way to crowded, which made it hard to get any eggs and the lines for the games were insane. We decided to ditch that party and go to the egg hunt in Bountiful later that afternoon. It was a lot more fun.

After the egg hunt we dyed our own eggs.

The girls got new spring dresses a few weeks ago when we went to Park City. I was talking to a friend about this tradition yesterday. We're not really sure where it came from, but since the girls are constantly needing new clothes anyway, I think it's a fun way to make Easter a little more special for them.

I'm not much of a cook (we all know that), but Easter is one holiday we seem to have found a tradition. We have had the same meal for 3 or 4 years in a row now. It's just an easy pineapple and ham dish served over rice and I make deviled eggs -- because I got this really cute dish to serve them in. I also have some egg shaped jell-o molds, but I forgot to make them this year. Sophie was such a big help in the kitchen. Chloe is usually my cook, but she was busy with dad, and Sophie was more than eager to do all she could. It was a lot of fun working together with her.

Sounds like your Easter dinner was a lot better than mine. After my chicken didn't turn out I just made egg salad sandwiches. Sounds like we were on the same page with the whole egg thing at least!:)

I love the new dress thing! I think it's symbolic and wonderful to have something new on Easter. I always looked forward to a new dress. I love your girls dresses!

Glad you had a nice Easter!!

Just checking out your blog. Looks great! When you told me you had gone digital it totally didn't surprise me and blogging fits right in with digital scrapbooking. Sorry I didn't get a look sooner. My grandpa passed away and we were in Utah and Idaho all last week. This week I've been sick with something that knocked me off my feet for the past 3 days. I'm feeling so much better today.
My blog is so lacking. Part of the problem is we are trying to clear out the basement to finsih it, which mean very little computer time and the computer will actually be moving up to our bedroom for a couple months. Maybe if it's there, I'll get on a bit more :)
Happy Day!
Jennie Armstrong just started a blog and sent me her address if you want to see it:

She would love some comments I think!
