Cherry Hill Campout

Ross thinks the Bateman family doesn't do enough together. So we got busy planning our annual get-together. Who decided it had to be camping?, I'm still confused about. This year I was put in charge of choosing the date, and Jason was in charge of the location. After running a little poll, I chose the weekend of August 1st. I think Jason called each person three times to find out where we should go, but in the end his pregnant wife wanted Cherry Hill (and pregnant wives have a way of getting what they want). It doesn't hurt that it was also my top pick as well.

We spent all day Friday at the water park. We were able to check-in to our camp spot at 1:00 so we had a late lunch, then went back to swim some more. After dinner I was done. They did have a "concert on the hill" that night that we were able to go to, put on by a local stake. It was kind of fun. Then it was time to try to sleep. I didn't have too hard a time, but the home that our tent was oh, 15-20 feet from, had left their back porch light on. That wasn't fun for some trying to sleep. And there were crying babies, but that's no big deal (well, maybe except for the mothers and fathers?)

Saturday morning we had breakfast, took down the tents and cleaned up, and after much deliberation decided to play at Nicholls Park in Fruit Heights until lunch, have lunch there, and then go to Boondocks. Jason's kids were worn out, so they didn't make it to Boondocks, but those of us who did decided we would each just do one activity there. But once we got there nobody could really decide what to do (I didn't feel like much of anything), so we just got arcade passes and played games till they were used up -- which took a whole lot longer than I would have expected!

It turned out to be a really fun weekend, although pretty tiring. I don't remember what I've shared and what I haven't anymore, so I'm just posting highlights here. If you haven't seen it and desire access to the whole album just let me know!
