Sophie's Graduation

Last Thursday was Sophie's kindergarten graduation. I still can't quite grasp the importance of this trend. I love the program they do for the parents, having an opportunity for us to see all the things they've done through the year, but do we really need to call it a "graduation"? I realize I'm being a poor sport about it, but it's just one of those things I think our society has gone a little overboard with the silliness of. However, we are VERY proud of Sophie and all her accomplishments. She was the only student in her class to complete her skills book in one day, she had the highest number of AR points (for reading), and she completed the year with the highest SME Math score in her class.

Sophie did get a speaking part in the program, but bonehead mom is not very good at running the camcorder. I couldn't find her in the viewfinder. It is recorded on the tape, just doesn't show her doing it. Otherwise I would post a clip of the program.

wow, so Sophie was the Validictorian(sp) of her Kindergarten class!:) Cute! She's so smart! Are you going to homeschool her next year? I agree with you...they make a big deal out of some small things. I have issues with this too, we should talk about that some time. As of now I'll just say...Sophie looks so beautiful in her cap and colar.

You've got a very smart little girl! Good job getting the photos at least. I didn't get individual photos with any of my kids teachers this year...Something about dragging the other two in with me, etc... I still should have though, I guess.
